When asked why she was happy to be patron for DHFCambodia she said,

"When you’re given a voice wherever you stand it’s your duty to hold out your hand and speak out and help. We live in a world with so many disadvantages in it, and I feel very strongly and sensitively about this cause. It felt like the Cambodian people didn't have a voice, a political megaphone and their lives, country, economy, hope had been destroyed. The stories of children and their families brought me to tears. I want to make a difference in whatever way I can, and if I have a voice and this body, a mere shell, I will use it to do so; we all should"
